Why we chose this cask

Fettercairn is known for a waxy, tropical-fruit spirit. Eighteen years in a single refill ex-bourbon hogshead added vanilla, sweetness and structure without ever covering it, so the beeswax, ripe orchard fruit and that savoury tomato-vine note all come through clearly.

One cask, 306 bottles.

Who it is for

For the drinker who likes to sit with a dram and watch it change.

Silky and fruit-led at cask strength, with a waxy depth and a savoury twist that make it quietly distinctive rather than loud.

Tasting notes

Soft vanilla and polished beeswax lead, then a distinctive note of sun-warmed tomato vine that brings freshness rather than greenness. Ripe orchard fruits and subtle baking spice unfold with time, framed by gentle oak, and the waxy character grows the longer it sits in the glass.

About Fettercairn

Highland

Fettercairn was founded in 1824 and sits in the Highlands, in the foothills of the Cairngorms. Water cascades down the outside of its copper spirit stills, cooling the metal and encouraging the lighter vapours to rise. That cooling-ring method helps shape the distillery's signature tropical fruit character.
