Terms of service

Last updated: 25 August 2026

1. Who we are

This website, onecaskatatime.com (the Site), is operated by One Cask at a Time Limited (we, us, our), a company registered in Scotland with its registered office at 84 Commercial Street, Commercial Quay, Edinburgh, EH6 6LX, United Kingdom.

You can contact us at info@onecaskatatime.com or on 0131 287 5805.

2. Age restriction

We sell alcoholic beverages. You must be at least 18 years old to browse, purchase from, or receive goods from this Site. By placing an order you confirm that you are 18 or over and that any person receiving the delivery is also 18 or over.

Our couriers operate a Challenge 25 policy and will ask for proof of age on delivery. If satisfactory proof of age cannot be provided, the delivery will not be completed and the goods will be returned to us. It is an offence to buy or attempt to buy alcohol on behalf of a person under 18.

3. These terms

These Terms of Service govern your use of the Site and any order you place through it. By using the Site or placing an order, you accept these terms. Please also read our Refund Policy and Privacy Policy, which form part of these terms.

We may amend these terms from time to time. The version in force at the time you place an order is the version that applies to that order.

4. Orders and formation of contract

Your order is an offer to buy from us. All orders are subject to acceptance and availability. An order confirmation email acknowledges receipt of your order but does not constitute acceptance.

A contract between you and us is formed only when we dispatch the goods and send you a dispatch confirmation. If we are unable to fulfil your order, we will contact you and refund any payment in full.

We reserve the right to refuse or cancel any order, including where we reasonably believe the purchaser is under 18, where the goods are intended for unauthorised resale, or where there is an obvious pricing or description error.

5. Products and single cask bottlings

Every bottling we sell is drawn from a single cask and is produced in a strictly limited outturn. Once a cask is bottled it is never repeated.

Because these are natural products bottled at cask strength, without chill filtration and with no added colouring, minor variation in colour, clarity, sediment and fill level is normal and is not a defect. Tasting notes are the honest opinion of our team and are not a guarantee of how any individual bottle will taste.

Product images are illustrative. Cask numbers, ages, bottle numbers, ABV and outturn figures are stated on each product page and on the bottle label.

6. Price and payment

Prices are shown in the currency selected at checkout and include UK VAT and excise duty where applicable. Delivery charges are shown separately before you confirm your order.

For deliveries outside the United Kingdom, you may be liable for import duties, taxes and customs charges levied by the destination country. These are not included in our prices and are your responsibility.

Payment is taken at the time you place your order. If a payment is declined or reversed, we may cancel the order.

We take reasonable care to ensure prices are correct. If we discover an error in the price of goods you have ordered, we will contact you to ask whether you wish to proceed at the correct price or cancel the order.

7. Delivery

Delivery timescales given on the Site are estimates and are not guaranteed. Risk in the goods passes to you on delivery. Title passes when we have received payment in full.

Alcohol cannot be left in a safe place or with a neighbour without an age check. Someone aged 18 or over must be present to sign for the delivery.

We do not deliver to every country, and some carriers will not carry alcohol to certain destinations. Available destinations are shown at checkout.

8. Cancellation, returns and refunds

Your right to cancel, the condition in which goods must be returned, and how refunds are issued are set out in full in our Refund Policy, which forms part of these terms. Nothing in these terms limits your statutory rights under the Consumer Contracts (Information, Cancellation and Additional Charges) Regulations 2013 or the Consumer Rights Act 2015.

9. Bottle Passport and NFC tags

Certain bottlings carry an NFC tag which links to information about that release. This service is provided for interest and convenience. We may change, suspend or withdraw it, and availability may depend on your device. Nothing in the Bottle Passport varies the description of the goods set out on the product page.

10. Acceptable use

You may use the Site only for lawful purposes. You must not use it in any way that breaches applicable law, is fraudulent, attempts to gain unauthorised access to our systems, or interferes with its operation. You must not purchase from us for onward commercial resale without our prior written agreement.

11. Intellectual property

All content on the Site, including text, photography, artwork, logos and the One Cask at a Time name, is owned by us or our licensors and is protected by intellectual property law. You may view and print content for your own personal use, but you may not reproduce, distribute or commercially exploit it without our written permission.

12. Our liability

We do not exclude or limit our liability where it would be unlawful to do so, including liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud, or for breach of your statutory rights as a consumer.

Subject to that, we are not liable for losses that were not foreseeable at the time the contract was formed, or for business losses. Our total liability in connection with any order is limited to the amount you paid for that order.

Alcohol should be enjoyed responsibly. Please drink sensibly and see drinkaware.co.uk for guidance.

13. Privacy

We handle your personal data in accordance with our Privacy Policy, which explains what we collect, how we use it and the rights you have.

14. Events outside our control

We are not liable for any failure or delay in performing our obligations where that failure or delay results from events outside our reasonable control, including carrier failure, extreme weather, industrial action, or interruption to supply.

15. Governing law

These terms are governed by the law of Scotland. Any dispute will be subject to the non-exclusive jurisdiction of the Scottish courts. If you are a consumer resident elsewhere in the United Kingdom or in the European Union, you retain the benefit of any mandatory consumer protection provisions of the law of your country of residence.
