Ledaig is Tobermory’s peated make, so a thirty year old cask this delicate is not what anyone expects. The smoke has gone and left cut grass and sea spray behind. 74 bottles, the smallest outturn we have released.

Tasting notes
Pale straw in colour, with slow-forming legs.
Light and fresh with a faint maritime hint, complemented by subtle notes of fresh fruit, strawberry, and cut grass.
Delicate and understated, offering a gentle sweetness, light woody undertones, and a touch of caramel. The finish is smooth, with lingering hints of oak barrel and cut grass.

IslandLedaig is the peated malt of Tobermory distillery, founded in 1798 on the Isle of Mull and one of the oldest distilleries in Scotland. From its harbour-side home in the town of Tobermory, the distillery draws soft water from the island's hills to create a maritime spirit usually defined by Hebridean peat and sea air. Yet a single cask can take its own path: this one set the smoke aside and grew quieter and more delicate across three decades in oak, a rarely-seen, gentler face of Ledaig.
