An Oloroso cask does one of two things to Jura: it buries the distillery or it frames it. Here it frames it. Dark fruit and treacle, with the island still audible underneath as a wisp of smoke.

For the drinker who reaches for sherried whisky in winter.
Stewed fruit, treacle and roasted nuts, with just enough coastal smoke to stop it turning into pudding. If you like GlenDronach but want salt in it, this is that.
Flavour profile

Deep mahogany to burnished amber, with slow, weighty legs that hint at rich texture and layered, coastal complexity.
Rich dark fruits and chocolate-covered raisins, lifted by toffee, brown sugar and burnt caramel, with soft spice, fruitcake warmth and a faint saline wisp of smoke.
Silky and full on the palate, with treacle toffee, dark honey and dried fruits leading into roasted hazelnut, gentle oak spice and a long, warming finish with soft coastal smoke.
