This Returns & Refunds Policy applies to purchases made on onecaskatatime.com (the Site), operated by One Cask at a Time Limited, 84 Commercial Street, Commercial Quay, Edinburgh, EH6 6LX (we, us).

It supplements, and does not limit, your rights under the Consumer Contracts (Information, Cancellation and Additional Charges) Regulations 2013 and the Consumer Rights Act 2015.

1. Your right to cancel (14-day cooling-off period)

If you are a UK consumer buying for personal use, you have the right to cancel your order for any reason within 14 days of the day you (or someone you nominate) receive the goods, without giving a reason. If your order arrives in multiple parcels, the 14 days run from the day the last parcel is delivered.

To exercise this right, contact us at info@onecaskatatime.com within the 14-day window, quoting your order number and stating that you wish to cancel. You may use the model cancellation form at the end of this policy if you prefer.

2. Condition of returned items

Because we sell alcoholic beverages, returned items must be:

We cannot accept returns of bottles where the seal has been broken, the wax has been cracked, or the contents have been sampled or decanted, except where the goods are faulty or damaged on arrival (see Section 5).

3. How to return an item

  1. Email info@onecaskatatime.com with your order number and the reason for the return. We will respond within 2 working days with return instructions and an RMA reference.
  2. Repackage the bottle in its original outer packaging, with sufficient additional padding for transit. Whisky is fragile and we recommend a double-walled carton with bubble wrap or moulded foam inserts.
  3. Use an insured, tracked, signed-for courier service appropriate to the value of the goods. We strongly recommend a courier that specialises in alcoholic beverages and that requires age-verified delivery (over 18). The customer is responsible for the goods until they reach us.
  4. Send the parcel to: One Cask at a Time Limited, Returns, 84 Commercial Street, Commercial Quay, Edinburgh, EH6 6LX, United Kingdom. Mark the RMA reference clearly on the outside of the parcel.

4. Return shipping costs

If you are exercising your 14-day right to cancel and the goods are not faulty, you are responsible for the cost of returning the goods to us. We do not offer a free return label for change-of-mind cancellations.

If the goods are faulty, damaged in transit, or not as described, we will reimburse reasonable return shipping costs (see Section 5).

5. Faulty, damaged or incorrect items

If your order arrives damaged, leaking, broken, or you have received the wrong item, please contact us within 48 hours of delivery at info@onecaskatatime.com. Please include your order number and clear photographs of the outer packaging and the item itself.

Subject to our inspection, we will at our discretion: replace the item with an identical bottle from our remaining stock, offer a suitable alternative cask of equivalent value, or issue a full refund (including original delivery charges and reasonable return shipping costs).

Single-cask bottlings are by their nature limited; if the original cask is no longer available, we will offer either a refund or a comparable alternative.

6. Refunds

Once we receive your returned goods and have inspected them, we will issue your refund within 14 days. Refunds are made to the original payment method used at checkout.

For 14-day cancellations under Regulation 34, your refund will include the original cost of the goods and the standard delivery charge, but excludes any premium delivery upgrade or return shipping cost you have paid.

If returned goods arrive damaged, with broken seals, or otherwise outside the conditions in Section 2, we reserve the right to refuse the return or to deduct an amount from the refund reflecting the diminished value, in line with Regulation 34(9).

7. Age verification on delivery and return

The sale and return of alcoholic beverages is subject to UK age-verification law. You must be at least 18 years old to purchase, receive or return alcohol from us. Our courier will require proof of age (Challenge 25) on delivery, and the same applies to any pickup or onward shipping of returned items.

If you wish to cancel an order that has not yet been dispatched, contact us as soon as possible at info@onecaskatatime.com. If we receive your request before the parcel leaves our warehouse, we will cancel the order and issue a full refund within 14 days.

10. International returns

If you are returning an item from outside the United Kingdom, you are responsible for any duties, taxes, customs declarations and shipping fees associated with the return. Please mark the parcel clearly as Returned Goods on the customs declaration so that no additional UK import duty is levied.
